camera shot: The use of a long distance shot in the beggining was to to set the scene but at the same time it made Light (note:boy) look vunerable in it's surroundings. There was alot of low angle shots, which makes Ryuk (Note: god of death) look very powerful and Light looking weak. When the camera panned upwards, it's like we are looking upwards at the same time as Light does. This also creates tension as the voice comes before the himself (Ryuk), which leaves the audiences questionning. The use of the over the shoulder shot was effective as we could only see Light's terrified face expression, which indicates that Ryuk is a scary character, even though we do not see his face.
Lightings: When we first see Ryuk, we could not see him clearly as he blends in with the dark sky, which indicates that he could be a evil character. But it also make audiences curious.
Propps: The black book, which Light holds draws attension(1:09)from the use of a close up shot, which indicates it's importance in the story. The colour black also indicates that there is something sinister about the book.
